His aunt and uncle exchanged looks of outrage.
“Listening to the news! Again?”
“Well, it changes every day, you see,” said Harry.
I like reading the news — a lot. I endlessly scroll through Twitter and Google News daily in the quest to read better news. And when I think of it, it is for no particular reason.
One fine day, my digital wellbeing tracker read that I spent over two hours on Twitter. I know what I was doing: hunting for news.
When push came to shove and I realized my need to cut down on spending time on…
Twitter’s API is loved by all of us, isn’t it? It gives us access to a treasure trove of information, misinformation, disinformation and whatnot- almost in real time. It feeds the beginner NLP Engineer/Data Scientists dream of collecting processable data efficiently. And it is ridiculously well documented by enough of the community through their blog posts, stack overflows, and wrappers. Last I counted from memory, I recollected at least five different python wrappers to access the API.
Despite all these, I stumbled upon a task that had poor documentation and even poorer solution implementations (not the fault of the programmers)…
A brief history of my startup’s time.
There is no TLDR version of this post, because this by itself is a TLDR version of the story. I will try to keep it as short as I can, without losing the story’s essence. To keep a long, happening, tedious, tense, and yet fun journey to a few hundred words is not something I want to do. You might want to notice that in the description of my startup journey in the previous sentence, I use a list of words or sentiments, but ‘disappointing’ is not one of them. I will get…
How I miss you, poetry little describes.
A decade and a half, and then we haven’t met,
leaving me with your dirty nemeses instead.
How I long to hold you again,
to walk into trials unscathed, unhindered, and unhinged.
How I yearn for your companionship,
to conquer and not make conquests.
How I crave your mere presence,
one that permits reckless, careless, and carefree.
How I seek you,
faint hope a guiding light through caves of nothingness.
How I know you,
I did not. How I long to know you,
describe, I cannot.
I have had the opportunity to have some really-very-different kinds of coffee and all that I look for before the aftertaste even leaves my tongue is the next opportunity to have a coffee. The only thing other than coffee that I am addicted to is failed attempts at giving it up. On my best days, I can have eight, maybe nine cups by dusk and when I need to, the number can go higher- depending on mileage that I need to provide my task. But, get one thing clear. I just admire the aroma and the taste. The so-called kick…
A recent incident brought into public view, a long standing societal practice in India. Growing as a collective entity is something we have done in leaps and bounds, especially when adapting to practices which we appreciate from elsewhere, certain chains still hold us back, to surprising, rather shocking extents.
Raja Ram Mohan Roy, a pioneer in preaching abolishing regressive trends, mentality and practices, quite likely turns in his grave every day as he sees the marital practices we often follow when searching for the ‘right one’. The sorting hat would never be able to decide what we value more at…
